We’re thrilled that Biotecture have been shortlisted for the prestigious Prolandscaper Business Awards 2024. Repeat client Canary Wharf Group (CWG) nominated us for the Industry Collaboration Award for our work installing and maintaining living walls across the Canary Wharf estate.
CWG are committed to tackling biodiversity loss and creating nature positive places that people want to spend time in. In 2021 they appointed Landscape Architect Gillespies to create a landscaping framework to green up the estate. The scheme included living walls, large planters and modular seating in key locations across the Wharf to enrich the public realm and boost biodiversity.
The living walls were installed by Biotecture using a stackable, modular living wall system that delivered immediate impact, instantly bringing thousands of additional plants to the estate.
Biotecture were able to offer a fast turnaround, with the first walls installed just eight weeks after our initial visit.
Living walls like any other landscaping project need maintenance and so it was important to CWG to choose an ongoing landscape partner they could trust. They chose to continue working with Biotecture because of our expert knowledge and proactive approach. This has developed into an excellent partnership based on a shared drive to make the world a greener place.
The on-going collaboration has successfully transformed multiple areas across the Estate into welcoming nature-positive spaces that benefit the community and local wildlife by boosting biodiversity, improving air quality and improving well-being.
For Biotecture, the partnership with CWG has provided a prestigious showcase for our green solutions. We’re proud to have worked with a forward-thinking client like CWG, who has embraced our ideas and supported our efforts to push the boundaries of urban greening.
“CWG are a fantastic client to work with. They understand that prioritising nature in their public spaces helps to create enriching environments that people want to spend time in as well as ensure a sustainable future for our planet. They are innovative clients, always willing to explore new ways to boost biodiversity and improve the Estate. We are looking forward to working with them for many years to come.” Richard Sabin, Director at Biotecture.
