Double success at the BALI National Landscape Awards

Biotecture is proud to have won two awards for our living walls at this year’s BALI National Landscape Awards.

4th September 2024 | By Jessica Wigmore

The winners of the BALI National Landscape Awards have been announced, and we are delighted to have won two awards this year, for projects in the Interior Landscape Installation category. The Awards showcase the best landscaping projects across the UK, and it’s an honour to have been recognised.

Head judge, John Melmoe, said, “To win any award at this level, with such a high standard of vetting in place, is a true testament to any business or individual that receives one. The level of innovation and the skill demonstrated is evidence of the exceptional talent in our industry. These projects set a benchmark for excellence.”

EQ Bristol Atrium
Our first winning project is the spectacular 110 sqm living wall at EQ Bristol, a new commercial office development. Designed to reflect the natural beauty of the River Avon, which winds through Bristol, this vertical garden transforms the building’s central atrium into a vibrant, natural oasis. The wall features 17 different plant species, carefully selected to enhance visual interest and create a calming environment for the building’s occupants.

Chris Rae, Development Manager at CEG, praised the installation, saying, “Biotecture fantastically delivered to our brief of bringing the heart of the building to life. Connecting Bristol to the building occupants, whilst bringing in a sense of nature and calm; we are delighted with the installation.”

House of Elements Living Wall
Our second award-winning project is a lush living wall that forms a striking backdrop to a private client’s kitchen extension and house remodel. The living wall creates a verdant focal point, drawing the eye from different parts of the house and helping to create a ‘spa-like retreat’.

Biotecture worked closely with the architect, Neil Dusheiko, to design and deliver a living wall that would exceed the client’s expectations. We also hold the maintenance contract to ensure the living wall stays looking its best.

The full house remodel was recently featured on Channel 4’s Extraordinary Extensions (Series 2, Episode 2).
