Marketing Suite Living Walls: Silkstream, Hendon
Project Details
- Created using the modular, stackable PlantBox living wall system
- Designed to maximize biodiversity net gain
Biotecture were approached by the Berkley Group to design and install living walls that would bring their Silkstream marketing suite to life.
Silkstream is a new prestigious 9 acre development in north London providing 1,2 and 3 bedroom apartments within a public park and private landscaped gardens.
One of the challenges with marketing suites and new developments can be the lack of mature trees and plants to soften the look of the build. Purchasing a new property involves a mix of head and heart, so creating a positive first impression is one step closer to securing a sale. This living walls at Silkstream provide temporary greening to create a calm welcoming environment.
Biotecture designed living walls which would run up the building and horizontally along the roof of the marketing suite. We used our PlantBox system which is freestanding, modular and stackable and only requires restraint fixings. It is also de-mountable so can be taken down and used elsewhere in the future.
One of the key aims of the wider development was to create a significant biodiversity net gain. Biotecture worked closely with the project ecologist to select a planting palette what would contribute to this goal.
Our project management team ensured the living walls were installed to suit the client’s programme and our maintenance team are keeping the walls looking their best.
