    Project Details

    • Corporate Client Headquarters
    • Stand alone irrigation tanks
    • Recirculating water

Biotecture were commissioned to install two green walls to flank either side of the marble stairs in the client’s headquarters’ entrance lobby.

The new natural indoor vertical gardens create a tranquil atmosphere and provide clean air for all visitors and staff entering the building. This new oasis away from the bustling city outside ensures an element of calm in the building.

These green walls are built as freestanding tower structures, complete with tank-based recirculating irrigation systems; they are fully alarmed and remotely monitored for performance. These walls are not publicly viewable.

To see another example of an office living wall you can visit our ‘Centrica Office Atrium‘ case study to learn about the living wall in the Centrica corporate office in Oxford.

Given the location and access restrictions we had to know that these two 6 metre high towers could be installed over one weekend, so we first built them as a full scale mock up in our nursery workshop in Sussex. We learnt a lot from this and it was the key to a smooth installation.
