In 2021 Biotecture delivered living walls in prominent locations across the Canary Wharf estate as part of wider landscaping plan to enrich the public realm and contribute the client’s ambitious sustainability goals. The scheme, designed by Gillespies in collaboration with Biotecture and Willerby Landscapes has created distinctive ‘human-scaled’ landscaped areas across the Estate for workers, residents, and visitors to enjoy.
The green walls are formed using ‘PlantBox’, a unique, stackable, modular living wall system that delivers immediate impact. Using this system allowed Biotecture to deliver a big impact within a short timeframe.
